why bodycare?
my offerings are a commitment to utilizing my skills, energy & time to provide care for the sacredness of all trans, queer & gender expansive humans. i use the term ‘bodycare’ as alternative to ‘bodywork’ because it is more reflective of my intentions & values in the world. bodycare is a demonstration of holistic health that seeks to lessen the barriers between luxury & necessity. i believe in detangling bodycare from the imperialist, white-supremacist capitalist patriarchy that has made our bodies & nervous systems an afterthought. in a system where medical care continues to silence my community, i strive to empower my clients to advocate for their unique needs in every session.
why in home massage?
my practice is mobile because i desire to make my offerings as accessible & compassionate as possible. many of my clients survive & thrive in the world with marginalized identities; their unique needs may make receiving bodycare in an office scary & pathologizing. i believe that by taking out the need for my client to face a highly-sensory society or deal with the complications of transportation; they will be more able to integrate the care we have co-created. one of the best parts of my practice is witnessing my clients staying cozy & safe in their home after a session that may evoke tender feelings.
why light pressure massage?
as a massage therapist i care for myself, my body & the longevity of my practice by applying light to medium pressure during a session. from my experience, when a client anticipates deep pressure they often guard their systems in response; making it challenging to tap into a parasympathetic or relaxed state. i am generally happy to negotiate pressure in a specific area if the need is present.
why manual lymphatic drainage?
manual lymphatic drainage (mld) uses gentle rhythmic motions to increase lymphatic flow to relieve swelling & fibrosis caused by surgery, injury or illness. i utilize mld to treat fibrosis & scar tissue, reduce swelling & inflammation, relieve pain, improve range of motion, reduce surgical healing time & complications, treat migraines & headaches, enhance immunity, nervous system regulation & promote sleep.
